A Deal Tracker or Schedule of Investments (SOI) is a document (usually in Excel format) that lists all of the transactions within a fund. It identifies the fund name, company name, transaction type, date of investment, ownership, and cost.
We request this so our team can get a sense of your portfolio’s size, complexity, and data health. We use this document to map your portfolio companies to your funds and to understand the types of transactions for each portfolio company.
At a minimum, the The Deal Tracker or Schedule of Investments (SOI) must provide the following information:
- Legal name of your investing entity(ies) per transaction
- Name of Portfolio company, SPV, or fund-of-fund (including DBA, if any)
- Transaction type (e.g., pre-seed, Series A, Series D1, dissolved, etc.)
- Transaction cost (specify currency)
- Share count per transaction (if equity financing)
- Date of transaction
